Humans - Legionnaire

The legionnaire is the pinnacle of human combat training. He can deal an enormous amount of damage, and has abilities that are great for many combat situations. Legionnaires are extremely good in tight-knit phalanx-style groups, able to maximize the effectiveness of their large attack arcs, abilities that stun enemies, and strong defensive capabilities.

Melee

The legionnaire uses slow, sweeping, long-ranged axe swipes to deal a large amount of damage to enemy players in melee combat. Because the attacks are relatively sluggish and the flurry is a bit stiff, legionnaires will need to choose their attacks with extreme prejudice to maximize their damage. The legionnaire's melee flurry consists of 3 swings; the last of which (whose damage will already be high due to being the end of the flurry) is further magnified by the legionnaire's high damage. The legionnaire's jump attack also benefits from very high damage, but its narrower arc makes it less suitable for use against groups of enemies.

Grenade Launcher

The grenade launcher fires an arcing projectile which bounces along the ground for a short period of time before exploding. The projectile will deal a large amount of damage with a direct hit, and has a very large blast radius. The blast radius makes the grenade launcher an ideal crowd control weapon, being able to out-damage most other weapons when fired into a group. The grenade launcher great for firing at structures, and the arc and bounce of the projectile make it great for firing over hills or down at enemies from above.

Rocket Launcher

The rocket launcher fires slow-moving explosive projectiles directly towards its target. It fires very slowly and deals a relatively high amount of damage per shot. It's best used against distant enemies and structures, and its high blast radius allows it to damage multiple enemies per shot. Like all projectiles with a significant blast radius, it may be easier to fire the rocket launcher towers the feet of enemy players, ensuring that a miss still deals some damage to the target.

Whirling Blade

This ability is a spinning attack which damages and stuns all enemies close to the legionnaire. The stun effect for whirling blade lasts for an extremely short period of time, and thus should be used to maximize damage in the middle of a group of enemies rather than for the stun duration. Whirling blade also has a very long wind-up time before the attack occurs. It's best to ensure a bit of breathing room near enemy groups before activating the attack.

Bash

Bash deals a moderate amount of damage to enemies in front of the legionnaire and stuns them for a short period of time. Bash cannot be interrupted once activated, and can therefore buy the legionnaire some breathing time in the middle of heavy combat.

Riposte

Riposte allows a legionnaire to reflect a significant amount of melee damage back to attacking enemy players over a moderate time period. While it doesn't actually reduce the damage incurred, it can cause great harm to enemy players and even kill enemies who don't exercise restraint when low on health. While the riposte effect is active, a clanging sound and a pink flash on the legionnaire will indicate that a melee attack's damage has been reflected.

Reconstitute

This ability allows the legionnaire to slowly regenerate a significant amount of health over a moderate amount of time. It's extremely useful during long periods of combat, as the mana cost is low and the cooldown is relatively short.
